Our Mission

We exist to protect the fundamental rights of every person in the United States and to advocate, without distinction, for those whose voices are too often unheard.

01

Impartial Advocacy

We take up cases and causes on their merits — never on the basis of a person's race, gender, religion, nationality, or background.

02

Direct Support

We connect individuals with legal resources, documentation support, and referrals so they can pursue their rights with confidence.

03

Public Accountability

We monitor patterns of injustice, publish findings, and press institutions to uphold the rights owed to every person.

What We Do

Our focus areas

Human rights work spans many fronts. These are the areas where IHRC USA concentrates its advocacy, casework, and public education.

Civil & Legal Rights

Supporting individuals facing discrimination or due-process violations with guidance, referrals, and documentation.

Racial & Ethnic Justice

Advocating against discrimination and working to ensure equal treatment before institutions and the law.

Gender Equality

Championing equal rights and protection regardless of gender identity or expression.

Migrant & Refugee Rights

Helping newcomers understand and access the protections and processes they are entitled to.

Access to Justice

Bridging the gap between people and the legal system through education and direct referral networks.
